How can we help our children learn courage, justice, empathy, dignity, humility, and service?
Today our nation celebrates the birth of a true leader, Martin Luther King, Jr. We dedicate time to honor a man who brought a sense of hope and healing to our nation. We dedicate time to honor his words and his example, such as courage, justice, empathy, dignity, humility and service. These qualities are so important and worthy of our time and reverence.
So as we dedicate the time to honor this great leader, let us also take the time to share the importance of these values with our students and examine how we can incorporate the lessons of Martin Luther King, Jr into our everyday actions. How can we help our children learn the influence of courage, the power of justice, the importance of empathy, the significance of dignity, the strength of humility, and the gift of service? How can we create a school culture that integrates these values into every corner of our campus? How can we guide our students to stretch their learning, strengthen their character and commit to integrity?
It is so important to honor our heroes, but also to pick up the torch that burns bright with the values that have made the difference in the past to always guarantee that courage, justice, empathy, dignity, humility and service will be around for those who follow.
