Head of School Message

Dear Parents,
I hope this finds everyone well, thinking about returning to school....perhaps enjoying a last minute vacation, or permitting the kids those final days of sleeping late. The three Brown children certainly excel at that. At All Saints we are busily preparing for a new school year, and the campus is already buzzing with a lot of pre-season athletic practices. Below I would like to share some exciting news for the coming year, and taking advice from the PA, am doing so with bullet points.
  • All Saints welcomes twenty new faculty and staff from across East Texas and around the world. We are very pleased to have filled our personnel needs with this talented group of educators, most of whom are bringing years of experience and advanced degrees to their classrooms. While most are Texans, others are coming from Virginia, New York, and Florida. In addition, we have hired two Americans who were working at schools abroad in Barcelona and Taiwan.
  • We are also welcoming over 100 new students including 14 three-year-olds. The 3K program is new this fall and filled rapidly. We are considering expanding it in the future.
  • LS playground upgrades underway! Combining school resources with a generous gift from the PA Spring Gala Fund-a-Need, $120K of improvements has begun. The full playground will be completed in September with a smaller portion ready for the children on the first day of school.
  • New website and login community for parents! We are working hard behind the scenes to deliver a vastly improved public website and private login community for our parents. Upon logging in you will have access to rich comprehensive information on your child and the school. We anticipate going live with this new online community after Labor Day.
  • New 300 seat chapel coming! Construction to commence in 2015. I look forward to sharing renderings and updates with you this fall. The chapel is currently sited for the wooded lot between the driveway to LS and Davis Gym. Twenty-eight generous donors have committed $3.2M to this effort which includes a sizeable endowment to operate and maintain the facility.
  • Tyler Football Classic August 28-30. All Saints continues as a leader and partner in Tyler and the private school community by hosting the Tyler Classic featuring six of the top football programs in East Texas. We are grateful to Azalea Orthopedics & Texas Spine & Joint Hospital for sponsoring this event for the whole family.
It is a pleasure to bring you this good news of our school. We look forward to welcoming your students next week. As always, find below some education articles of interest. You can also follow me on Twitter @randalbrown where these articles and other items are posted.
