"To understand
math... children need to touch, they need to see, they need to
hear. Learners of all ages need to use those senses to
understand mathematics to its fullest."
4K and 5K
are exploring
and sorting with
shapes, colors, and patterns. The game "Sort-n-Shape"
helps us sort shapes and make patterns.
"The
only thing I can teach a child is how to think. I can
teach them there is more than one way to solve a problem."
In
Primer, 1st Grade and
2nd Grade we are
adding and subtracting through the games "Sum
Swamp" and "CountDown".
Every idea begins with imagination!
In
3rd grade
students use the distributive property with numbers on the
dice to make "lock outs" in the game "Knock Out."
I hear
and I forget.
I see and
I remember.
I do and
I understand!
4th graders
are using the Versa Tiles to
review place value, number concepts, and rounding.
The part of
our brain that controls our finger movement, also controls our
computation of mathematical equations.
The
5th graders are busy
with adding and subtracting decimals. They are
working with number concepts in the game "Number Ring".
6th graders are working in
teams with "Number Tiles" to solve equations using Order
of Operations.

We see our Math
