Fun Fall Book Parade-October 31

Servicing Grades 4K-6
The goal of the All Saints Lower School Library is to serve the instructional heart of the Lower School. We hope to be a warm and inviting place for the entire Lower School community where reading and learning are encouraged. All classes visit the library for 30 minutes once a week. While in the library, students will learn the difference between fiction and nonfiction books, how to find books in the library using the electronic catalog, and will often hear stories related to subjects taught in the classroom. Children in 4K and 5K check out one book each week; all other students check out two books per week. Of course, students may also visit the library before or after school or during class with the teacher's permission. Parents are welcome to check out books for their children. The library hours are Monday-Friday, 7:45-3:30 pm.

Library Events and Opportunities

Fall Book Fair: November 4-7 in the Student Center! Please come to support our school Library! To volunteer, please call Leigh Clyde.

Spring Book Fair: The Spring Book Fair will coincide with Fine Arts Festival Week. Watch for more info!

Texas Library Association Bluebonnet Award Books: Students in grades 3-6 are encouraged to read at least 5 books on the 2007-08 Master List in order to vote for their favorite in January. All the students who participate will be invited to a party in April when the winner is announced! For more information, see www.txla.org

ASES Birthday Books:

Birthday Books are a lovely way to celebrate your child’s birthday and to create a memory of the special occasion in our school library. The librarian will select an appropriate book in honor of your child. The book will be blessed in chapel then brought to the library for all students to enjoy. Your child will be allowed to check out the book first! A bookplate will be placed in the book to commemorate the occasion and the gift to the library. Children with summer birthdays can be honored on their half birthday or anytime during the year.

If you would like to donate a birthday book to the Lower School Library, please complete the form below. Give the form to the librarian accompanied by cash or check made payable to ASES Library. The donation is $18.00 per book. Please remember it takes two weeks for the book to be selected, ordered, and processed. A book will be selected according to the age of the child, the interests of the child, or the curriculum in your child’s class.

Thank you for your participation and support!
