Bank, we at All Saints Episcopal School are pleased to announce
the addition of an outstanding new learning program aimed
at 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders, KidzBANK, to our school
curriculum. In addition to assisting with the funding and
initial introduction of this program, Southside Bank has
agreed to act as depositor of the KidzBANK account.
What is KidzBANK? KidzBANK is a program that teaches
important life skills to your children in the following
areas:
• How to create a saving habit and learn financial
responsibility (Students can save as little as $2.00 to
open an account and $1.00 per deposit after that and watch
it grow)
• A basic understanding of how to manage a bank
account
• How to work with others as a team to manage the
bank
• A brief introduction to banking and an understanding
of some of the routine functions performed by a bank
Changes are coming to the
Trojans' Treasure Chest! Mrs. Donnally will be
working with students during Math Enrichment on money
and banking skills. The bank will now be during Math Enrichment
class time in order for more students to be involved.
Students in the 3rd-6th grades may open an account for
$2 or more. Thereafter, deposits can be $1 or more. Paper
currency and quarters will be accepted. All money presented
will be deposited (there is no cash given back). Students
will fill out a deposit slip before seeing a student teller.
Bank statements will be printed once a month and passed
out to students at school. Upon leaving 6th grade, students
with $25 or more in their Trojans' Treasure Chest account
will be given the opportunity to visit Southside Bank
to open a savings account. Contact a faculty committee
member for further information.
This spring, two
6th graders qualified to start savings accounts at Southside
Bank. Abbey Russell and Kevin McKain will accompany Mrs.
Martin on a field trip to Southside Bank to open accounts.
Congratulations Savers!
