Important Dates in November:

Month of November- We will be collecting Smoke Detectors for 1st Grade Service Project

November 3-7- Book Fair in Student Center

November 7- Grandfriends Day (Program at 9:00; Early Dismissal)

November 10 - Swap Shop, 2:00-4:00 in Student Center; Phone-a-Thon, 6:00

November 11 - College T-Shirt Day

November 13 - Picture Retakes

November 13 and 15 - "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," 7:30

November 15 and 16 - "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," 2:00

November 14 - Field Trip to Skating Rink at Mistletoe and Magic

November 17- Tyler Fire Department brings Fire Truck to Collect Smoke Detectors

November 19 - Dedication of Bruce Brookshire Student Activity Center, 1:30

November 24-28 - Thanksgiving Break, NO SCHOOL

Important Reminders:

Please practice math facts each night using flashcards which were made at school.

Boys must now wear long pants on chapel days.

Please follow the traffic rules. Do not get out of your car at pick up time unless your car is in the parking lot.

Don’t forget to review the lunch menu with your child. If ordering lunch, your child needs to select either “A” “B” “C” or "D" each morning. On Fridays, your child may bring 75 cents for ice cream; this can not come out of your Traditions account. Please send a small, dry snack with your child each day. This is eaten during recess. Because of ants, snacks can not be saved.

If you take any photos at school events that you would like to share, please give them to Melissa Barrett in Admissions. Melissa prefers digital photos and will download them directly from your memory card if you stop by her office.

Math - Addition and Subtraction Through 8; Time (Hour and 1/2 Hour); Money (Pennies, Nickels, Dimes); Counting Patterns; Measurement (Inch, Foot)

Language/ Reading - Word Families; Sight Words; Writing Complete Sentences; Identifying Asking/Telling Sentences

Special Units - Dinosaurs (Box-asaurous Due Nov. 6); Thanksgiving; Fire Safety (We will collect smoke detectors during November for 1st Grade Service Project.)
