- All Saints Episcopal School's technology, including
but not limited to, computers, networks, TV's or VCR's, is to
be used for school-related activities only.
- The Internet can be accessed only by permission
from a teacher or authorized staff member. Students shall not
visit sites containing inappropriate material.
- Students shall not use school computers to
send or receive email or participate in online chatting.
- No food or drink is allowed in any computer
lab, library, or near any computer.
- Users shall not copy, install or download software
or files on any computer without the express authorization of
either a faculty member or an administrator. In addition, users
shall not make any unauthorized copies of software or files.
- All Saints technology cannot be used for any
unlawful purpose such as making illegal copies, creation or dissemination
of "bugs" or viruses, or the creation or dissemination of inappropriate
material.
- Users shall not provide their password, logon,
or files to anyone except an authorized staff member. Users shall
not use or try to discover another user's password or logon.
- Users must respect both school property and
the property and work of others. Users shall not erase, rename,
modify, or make unusable anyone else's files, programs, or disk.
- Users shall not intentionally damage or alter
any system or software, misuse system resources or software, or
allow others to misuse system resources or software. Users shall
not use any technology to create or access obscene language or
images, or harass others.
- Users shall not take home technology equipment
or programs without express authorization of the Technology Department.
- Computers and files that are stored on the computer
and/or the network are the property of All Saints. All Saints
has the right to monitor or copy these files as deemed necessary.
Consequences of violations of the Acceptable
Use Policy:
Use of technology is a privilege, not a right. Violation of
policies and procedures of All Saints Episcopal School concerning
the use of technology, including video, computers, and networks,
will result in the following disciplinary actions:
- Level 1: Student loses computer privileges/Internet
access until parent conference. Further loss of privilege and
length of time will be determined by administration. Any unauthorized
software will be subject to confiscation.
- Level 2: Pattern of abuse or flagrant
violations: Any student who continues to engage in serious or
persistent misbehavior by violating the school's previously communicated
written standards of conduct may be recommended for detention,
suspension, and parent notification.
In all matters of behavior and conduct, the
student is subject to the general policies of All Saints Episcopal
School, including the policy on expulsion.
