Welcome
to the exciting world of theatre. This course is
designed to enrich your knowledge of theatre and
acting techniques. As a class we will enjoy many
creative experiences together as we focus on the
following highlights of the year:
Mime and pantomime, Improvisation,
Technical theatre, Creative dramatics, Audition techniques,
Scene work, Play analysis, Class productions
All students will
be allowed performance opportunities. Our course
is very hands on and relevant to the appreciation
of the discipline of performance. Our environment
will be supportive and comfortable, but also very
structured and concentrated. The study of theatre
should allow each student to leave with important
skills and improved self-confidence. As a teacher,
I promise to respect your individuality and to work
hard to keep our class interesting, purposeful, and
productive. Please attend each class with a positive
attitude, be a supportive team member, and appreciate
the successes we experience as both individuals and
