Heart 2 Heart is the premier choral ensemble at All
Saints Episcopal School. Members range from the 9th
grade to the 12th grade and are selected by audition.
Through membership in Heart 2 Heart, students are
able to participate in TMEA, TPSMEA, and TAPPS competitions
on both the solo and ensemble levels.
Over the past years Heart 2 Heart has earned numerous
awards. Members have achieved positions in both the
Texas Music Educators Association All Region and
All State choirs as well as the Texas Private Schools
Music Educators Association All State choir. In fact,
in the 2003-2004 school year, 25% of the choir was
in the TPSMEA All State choir. Members have consistently
earned first division ratings at solo and ensemble
festivals across Texas.
In 2001-2002, Heart 2 Heart earned the position
of State Champs in the Texas Association of Private
and Parochial Schools competition. In 2003, they
again earned a first division rating at the TAPPS
state level. And in 2004 and 2006, they won the position
of State Runner-up at the TAPPS competition. Heart
2 Heart has won the “Sweepstakes” awards
at both the district and state TAPPS levels for excellence
in concert and sight-reading since 2006.
As a choir they have performed both across the state
and abroad. In 2001, Heart 2 Heart participated in
the New Years Festival in Vienna Austria. And in
2002, members performed with the National Youth Choir
at Carnegie Hall in New York under the direction
of Moses Hogan. The choir was invited to perform
for St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Ireland
in March of 2005. And in 2007 they made their second
appearance on the stage at Carnegie Hall performing
Mozart’s Coronation Mass under the direction
of Dr. David Thye. Locally, the choir is consistently
invited to sing for festivals, banquets, and church
services.
