| Jennifer
L. Furr has been at All Saints Episcopal School since
2003. She serves as both director of choirs (6th grade
through 12th grade) and director of Fine Arts for the
school system.
Mrs. Furr received her Bachelor
of Music degree from Stephen F. Austin State University
in 1995. Since that
time she has been the choir director for Tatum and
Whitehouse Independent School Districts. Under her
direction, her Whitehouse choirs consistently won sweepstakes
awards at the University Interscholastic League Concert & Sight-Reading
Competitions. They also earned the top awards, including
Best in Show, at the Breckenridge Invitational Music
Festival in Breckenridge, Colorado. In addition, she
was director of the Tyler Area Children's Choir and
adjunct voice instructor at Tyler Junior College.
Since she began teaching at All
Saints, her choirs and choir students have achieved
top awards at Texas
Association of Private and Parochial Schools, Texas
Music Educators Association, and Texas Private Schools
Music Educator Association competitions. Under her
direction, Heart 2 Heart, the top performing ensemble
at All Saints, won the position of TAPPS State Runner-up,
has been invited to perform for the St. Patrick’s
Day festivities in Ireland, and has performed at Carnegie
Hall.
In addition, Mrs. Furr maintains a private studio
of voice and piano students and is often invited to
clinic choirs and judge at competitions in the state.
In her spare time, Mrs. Furr enjoys singing with her
church choir, quilting and spending time with her husband
and 2 children.
