Biography
College & Degree(s):
B.S. History/Political Science & Education - LeTourneau University
(2002)
Master of Arts in History & Political Science - University of
Texas at Tyler (2004)
Teacher Certification in Secondary History, Political Science, Geography,
and Government
Year Began at All Saints - 2003
Family - I am married to my wonderful hubby Jason who is
the Dean of Students in the Upper School.
What you enjoy most about: Teaching at All Saints - I love the students, the
environment, the faculty and staff, and the friendly atmosphere. Everything
makes it such a splendid place to teach! I feel very blessed to be
here. Teaching the Subject - Geography is something that
most people dread because they think all it has to do with is labeling
maps, but there is so much more! Plus, U.S. History is not just memorizing
names & dates. I love exposing students to different cultures,
ways of life, and experiences from different parts of the globe and
from different areas.
Teaching age group - What is not to love!? I love
their enthusiasm, zest for life, and the fact that you never know
what they are going to ask you.
Goals for students - I want my students to learn and have
fun doing it. I also hope that they develop a knowledge and appreciation
of people who are different from themselves and to become more aware
of the world around them, and if they are ever caught on Jay Leno's
"Jay Walking", I want them to know the answers to the questions
he asks.
Outside interest - I love spending time with my husband,
family, and friends. I also enjoy politics, cooking, and traveling.
I hope to some day make it to the Serengetti Plains in Africa and
the Outback in Australia.
Future Plans: Whatever God has in store for me, I am excited
to do!
