Student Organizations & Academic Life

Clubs and Organizations allow students who have common interest to explore those interest in greater depth. All students must be enrolled for the following school year at the time of election to run for a club office. The Dean of Students will approve and supervise all club activities. Below is a sampling of our clubs and organizations.


Lower School

Anchor Club
SPONSOR: Shirley Martin
In 2006, All Saints Episcopal School chartered its first Anchor Club with thirty nine members. Our Anchor Club is the first nationwide for fifth and sixth graders. The children develop leadership skills through their Anchor Club experiences.

Chess Club
SPONSOR: Dr. Stephen Pamatmat
The All Saints Chess Club has won numerous awards and the students are coached by a parent.

Middle School

Anchor Club
SPONSOR: Sherry Johnson
In 2006, All Saints Episcopal School chartered its first Middle School Anchor Club with twenty-nine members. The students develop leadership skills through their community service experiences.

Art Club
SPONSOR: Mrs. Holiday
The Art Club participates in various community service projects. Members contribute their artwork to school faculty and staff. The Art Club is also responsible for student art exhibits displayed throughout Genecov Hall.

Improv Club
SPONSOR: Mrs. Fleming and Mrs. Satterfield
The purpose of this club is to promote a love for performance and improvisation. Students will participate in a variety of theatre and improv games that will help foster good communication skills, basic theatre skills and self confidence.

Student Council
SPONSOR: Mrs. Parham

The purpose of the Middle School Student Council is to give students opportunities for leadership and service to the school community. Students’ suggestions and grievances are brought to the Student Council for consideration.

Middle School - open to students in grades 7-8. Officers and members are elected to the student council. The student council organizes Middle School dances, fund raisers and service projects. The council's goal is to inform and involve the student body and create good will and enthusiasm among the students.

Upper School

Student Organizations
Academic Competitions
The faculty works with students to encourage and prepare them for participation in a variety of opportunities for academic competitions such as those sponsored by TAPPS, and local, state, or national organizations. The school is also an ACT testing site. The ACT Assessment is designed to assess high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The tests cover four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading and science reasoning.

Art Club
SPONSOR: Mrs.Piwonka
The Art Club participates in various community service projects; such as the mural painting and volunteering at the Tyler Museum of Art. Members contribute their artwork to school faculty and staff. The Art Club is also responsible for student art exhibits on campus.

Bible Study
SPONSOR: Mr. Ackerman
Student led Bible Study each Tuesday before school.

Bicycle Club
SPONSOR: Mrs. Jacks
The purpose of this club is to keep in good physical condition while enjoying the outdoors and keeping company with friends. Students will also learn how to maintain their bikes in good riding condition.

Chapel Committee
SPONSOR: Father Skully
Upper School students who serve on this committee work with the school Chaplain to assist in worship, prayer, music, and devotionals.

Culinary Club
SPONSOR: Mrs. Berry and Mrs. R. Ferguson
The Culinary Club meets once a month during lunch. Members will prepare a different type of food for each meeting according to an assigned theme. Evening dinners in small groups are planned every other month.


Debate Team
SPONSOR: Ms. Godwin
Members of the Debate Team are comprised of Upper School students, grades 9-12.  Affiliated with the national organization, the National Forensic League, debaters travel and compete in both types of debate as well as persuasive speaking. 



History Club
SPONSOR: Mrs. R. Ferguson
This club is a cadre of history buffs dedicated to fostering a love and appreciation of history in All Saints upper school. Each month, the club displays a poster highlighting a historical event that occurred in that month.

Honor Council
SPONSOR: Mr. Burgess
This elected group of upper school students is charged with advising and fact finding when honor code violations occur.

The purpose of this club is to promote a love for performance and improvisation. Students will participate in a variety of theatre and improv games that will help foster good communication skills, basic theatre skills and self confidence.



Journalism

TEACHER: Sara Ball
Upper school students may choose to be involved in the production of the yearbook or to serve on the Trojan Times newspaper staff.

National Honor Society
SPONSOR: Mrs. Birtcher
Affiliated with the national organization, NHS is a service club open to juniors and seniors who meet standards of academic excellence and personal integrity.

Summer Mission Trip
SPONSOR: Mr. Ackerman

Each summer group students go on a Mission Trip.



Mock Trial
SPONSOR: TBD
Competes at the district and state levels as officers of a court of law in a trial setting.


Poetry Club
SPONSOR: Mrs. Billings
This club explores poetry through the writing and reading of the members' original poems and through the study of published poetry. The students decide on the various themes, activities, and subjects for each meeting.

Spanish & French Clubs
SPONSOR for Spanish: Mrs. Ferguson
SPONSOR for French: Mrs. Brown
These clubs are governed by elected officers. Membership is based on interest and enrollment in that particular language class. For example, if a student is already enrolled in a Spanish class or has already received credit for a Spanish class, he or she can become a member of the Spanish Club. Only French students can belong to the French Club. These clubs will participate in service projects, cultural awareness activities, social events and cultural celebrations.

Student Senate
SPONSOR for Upper School: Mr. Burgess

The purpose of the Upper School Student Senate is to give students opportunities for leadership and service to the school community. Students’ suggestions and grievances are brought to the Student Senate for consideration. Members work with their sponsor and the All Saints Parent Association to develop social activities.

Upper School- Open to students in grades 9-12. Officers and members are elected to the student senate. The student senate organizes Upper School dances, fund raisers and service projects. Spirit Club
SPONSOR: Coach Jennings
The purpose of this club is to create spirit among the student body in cooperation with the cheerleaders to promote student and faculty participation at sporting events.


The Young Democrats/Republicans
SPONSORS for Democrats: Mrs.Wilson
SPONSORS for Republicans: Mr. Davis
Organized to allow students to explore and be involved in our government’s political process.
